Installed DS Client NOW WHAT??

Good evening all, I was wondering if I will be able to
log onto a windows 2003 domain using a windows 98 client.
I have installed the DSCLIENT but receive the following
error when I log on:

"No Domain Server was available to vaildate your
password. You may not be able to gain access to some
network resources"

Yet I can map network drives and browse the server in
network neighborhood? Any suggestions as to what can be
causing this?
