hi everyone,
I have a new installation of Fedora Core 4 that does not appear to have
xinetd installed for some reason.
The xinetd.d directory is present in /etc but there is no actual xinetd
executable present on the system also there is no xinetd.conf file.
If I do service xinetd start I get xinetd unrecognized service.
There is an rpm for xinetd at
http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/contrib....1-3.i386.html
but as this is an old distro I was wondering if I will blow up my linux
install by installing it.
(apt-get is not an option here as this install is running as I am
offsite so do not have network access but can download files and
transfer to this machine)
any advice would be much appreciated
tia
