I am having a problem with tcp ip and winsock, and have tried resetting
winsock and uninstalling tcp/ip, but now am faced with a network properties
that has no adapters listed so I can install tcp/ip on them. The adapters
appear in device mgr and the HP teaming utility and appear to be installed
fine, but I have no way to install tcp/ip. Does anyone know how to
accomplish this short of reinstalling the OS?

thank you,

Bill

OK - when you uninstall TCP/IP it is recommended that you install some other
protocol to keep the Local Area Connection alive so that you can reinstall
TCP/IP after reboot. If no network protocols are installed, no connections
appear. Sometimes, you can get the connection back by using device manager
to uninstall the adapter and rebooting - not sure how HP teaming would
impact this. The most likely way to get the connection back is to install a
new adapter - this can be a USB device. All network protocols are bound to
all adapters even if they are disabled on a particular adapter. So, if you
can create one Local Area Connection, you will recover all Local Area
Connections.

I, of course, have never made this mistake - it's just something I, uh,
heard about.

Let us know how it goes.
