Infrastructure and ad hoc channel conflicts?

I know to change the 802.11b access point channel number if I have a
conflict with other 2.4 GHz devices like a cellphone.

However, how about if there is a ad hoc point to point connection in the
same area (different network). Is there any good reason to make sure
infrastructure and ad hoc networks are configured to different channel
numbers?

Thanks,
Bruce.

Yes, if the two networks are in range of one another, they will either
share the bandwidth or interfere with each other. Neither is good.
