Hello

As network administrator for a large school I have been approached
with questions about implementing a wireless network within one
building. The school is looking to save money by not having to wire
classrooms. The network would be used for Internet and access to files
stored on servers and printing with 30 students per lab. I don't know
much about wireless (only worked with it at home), but I think it will
be slower and less secure than a wired network. I will be expected to
speak on this topic (pros/cons) and if they decide to do it I will be
expected to do the work myself. So I am looking for a good book or
resource that can help prepare me. I have looked online and gone to
the book store, but I am hoping some of you in this group might have
some suggestions for resources.

Thanks for your help
NH

There is one thing you should pay much more attention is secruity.
You will have to protect your wireless network by using some cryption
policies (such as WEP,WPA,etc)and authentication methods(such as 802.1x
which
is widely used in schools).

On the contrary, do nothing, tell everybody the system is insecure, that
*might* stop the students
from thinking they will get away with something...
