I use netfirms.com for hosting several web sites: rcarter.net,
gatewayhabitat.org, pocatelloarts.org - cost is $5/month. Runs very
nicely, tech support is supurb.

We use Powweb and have really enjoyed the experience. Their servers used
to be all FreeBSD but they migrated to Linux in the past 12 months. I
think it is a better deal than Yahoo:

I am comming late to this thread but I have found Hostingpuppy.com to be
cheap and fast. A buck a gig a month. I have a low traffic site and
this worked well for me.
