increase speed and strength

I have moved my favorite chair where I sit and surf the
internet on my wireless laptop. Now the speed and
strength is greatly reduced. I moved my chair 5 feet. My
router is based down my hallway about 15 feet away. Why
can't I get any speed and strenth? Is there some kind of
antenna I can get to get a better signal? Thank you.

Wireless networking is very dependent upon environmental issues. You might
try moving the base station higher or lower in the present location, making
sure it is away from other electrical devices. And, you might try moving
the channel for your LAN upper or lower.
