Incorrec wep key MN-730

MN-730

When we try to configure MN-730 we are getting message
incorrect wep key, tried reset the base station and again
uninstalled and reinstalled it still getting incorrect
wep key
checked the ip address 169.254.x.x. tried to renew
showing dhcp request timed out

no wireless interference base station and the computer
both are in the same room

The private IP address you PC is assigned is
automatically generated by Windows because it cannot
access the DHCP server of the MN-700. Are you setting up
the MN-700 wireless or through a wired connection?

Is the reset to the MN-700 a hardware reset, by pushing
the RESTORE button below the antenna until the power
light flashes from green to orange/amber? This will set
to factory defaults.

Assuming your OS is WinXp, use the Microsoft Broadband
Network Utility. Under "Tools", go to "Adapters
Setting". Click "Available Networks". You should see
something like "MSHOME" (by default). No WEP key should
be necessary.

BTW, if this is done wirelessly, this is extremely
insecure. Good Luck!

thanks for this precious information however even i tried
factory reset and showing network name mshome and wep key
disabled when i tried to connect to mshome showing
incorrect wep key
then tried manaul configuration showing 169.254.

Plug the PC into one of the four ethernet ports on the MN-
700. Can you connect to the interent? Can you access
the Base Station Management tool (192.168.2.1)?

yes i am getting valid ip address and even i am able to
access the internet however when i try to configure
wirelessly showing incorrect wep key even though it has
been disabled
