Implementing billing system

Hi,

I have following setup

internet -- [Linux Server] --[switch] -- 10 client pc(windows)

User can browse througn server . What I want a authantication
system which will take u/p from client, after sucessful
authantication user can browse the internet. I also want to
implement prepaid billing system.

Is there a way to do that . What software(free) I needed to implement
this .please help me.

I can write custom code(php/c/shell) to implement it if needed.

You can use a proxy with authentication methods; squid provides it.

Without any details, you wont get help on that.
