Hey there,

I am just preparing an assessment of the impact of technological
developments
on the rollout of brandband form government policy perspective.

I am writing to you from Ireland.

I would like to get to know how from your point of view new technologies
impact development and accessibility of broadband internet (what speed is
available & what are current trends) in your country.

What I would like to know also is what Regulatory (government bodies) in
your country is doing to help in development of accessibility of broadband
in cities and also rural areas.

I would be really grateful for all ansawer.

Thanking you in advance.

GB

MinusNet, I think many of your posts are junk, but in this one you
echoed my thoughts perfectly.

Not actually guys.
As you realize in many European countries we have different legislation,
lobbies, politicians influencing decissions of local telecoms I was curious
how does the new technology chnges the reality.
As I am in Ireland and it seems that the governmant is trying to push 2Mbps
to every single house in coutryside for a huge price.
We had lectures recenlty with Eircom's pricing director and there was
nothing said about new technologies... surprising.
I am researching European, USA, Canada and some Asian countries.
How else would I get any info if not this way?
What I am interested in is just what technolgies (FastNet/WiMax) are used
and how does it improve the current situation. I am not a techy guy and this
is for digital economy studies.

Thanks for response anyway,

GB

AOL - the unlimited ISP of choice for heavy downloaders.

Blimey, I hope the speel chacker on your wordprocessor works a bit
better than the one on your newsreader! :-0

Go and look up LLU, ADSL2+, VDSL, fibre to the home, BT's 21st C
network etc etc.

Go and read that site, covers everything you might want to know about
British ADSL and broadband in general.

You may also want to check this approach from a socialist state, that
also has too many representatives in Westminster!!
