Well, if you happen to read my reply to "Jonny" (Wireless
problem with MN-500.) I wrote just now you might also
find out it could be a problem with getting just the
right signal across the radio waves.
Summed up, I spent a week trying to get the MN-510 USB
adapter to connect until my Mom (her PC being on Base
Station, Dad's using wireless USB) suggested moving it
closer together.
I said, well the whole computer would need moving to get
it real close. I had only repositioned the router and
adapter out of the way of monitors, printers, etc.
She pulled the little USB thing two feet across the desk
and it started connecting. Albeit after a few more
attempts but it sure enough finally connected and stayed
that way (until they moved the base station slightly
while afixing it into one final place).
Seriously, it took an extremely solid signal before it
worked. Didn't matter if it said strong signal or not.
Seems to me that something about getting the initial
settings moved through the air was far too delicate and
would break too easily. Was doing very well after being
connected awhile.
Don't think I'll ever want MS wireless hardware myself. I
wasn't sure DELL's Truemobile stuff was going to be any
good either but that worked fine. Even did well used with
the MN-500 base station, trying my notebook with it.
'Frustration has no limits' should be my motto after all
this aggravation. Did I mention I spent an hour on the
phone (talking time!) with tech support and had given up
on it a couple days ago?
Again, good luck all.
