Hi,

I have a problem with a Win 2003 server which is my ISA 2004 firewall
server.

I'm loosing my internet connection without any idea of the reason!
If I do an action on my network card which result in a reset of the card,
then the connection come back. (action like changing the connetion speed,
disabling/enabling the card)
But the problem can come back again later.

So I presume that the network card (a DLink) is the reason, but how to
validate this?
any idea of what's appends?
does it an hardware or software issue?

its a new issue, my server has 3 years. so its not a new installation.

thanks for your comments.

Jerome.

Sounds like a network card driver issue.

Ho is your network organized? Do you have any switch/router that you connect
through? If your network adapter is set to auto sense (or equivalent -
different vendors name it differently) then try to set it to fixed value,
for example 100Mbps and full duplex.

the driver is the last one.

I have a switch, then a connection to the provider's internet router.

I have switched from autosense to 10mbps / full duplex to test if this solve
the issue. for the moment there is no problems but its a random issue... so
I wait and see...

You may want to disable the Powersaver features of the Nic. It is found in
the Driver properties of the Nic (not the Powersaver stuff in the
Screensaver area).
