I have current Broadband service through Cable, I wanted to replace
existing Linksys Router box with Linux Router, then how I will know
what kind of Routing protocol to enable on my Linux Box?. How can I
know whether my current cable provider supports what kind Routing
Protocl, i.e., OSPF or RIP kind of Routing?.

How I will know my Linksys box supports what kind of Routing Protocol
inside?. Thanks in advance.

I doubt if your cable ISP would pay attention to any routing protocols
unless you have a business account with static IP block. Typically you
would set up Linux iptables (or older ipchains) to masquerade the private
IPs on your LAN (in which case, routing protocols or daemons are not
necessary).

Its docs would tell you which (if any) routing protocols it supports. If
it is a simple broadband router, it might not support any routing
protocols. It likely just does NAT to masquerade any private (LAN) IPs
behind it as its public (WAN) IP.

I just looked into my existing box to see which Routing Protocol it
supports, It is not supporting any Routing Protocols at all. It says
"NAT Firewall, VPN passthrough".

That's because the crap Linksys sells as a 'router' is nothing of the
sort - it's a buggy NAT layer in hardware.
