I have a Win Server 2003 file server. On a small network
with a router to allow access to DCS line for internet.
I can Ping Router and outside ISP with no problem with
2003 server.
When I try to log on internet with IE all I get is "the
paqe cannot be displayed". All other computers on network
have no problem accessing internet. I am sure this is a
setup problem but I don't know where to look.

From a command prompt;
ipconfig /all
may reveal something. Probably incorrect or no DNS server entries or
possibly no default gateway.

I found this elsewhere and it worked for me on a Win XP
box...also had to delete winsock.dll file in the system32
folder

The issue being that you can ping IP addresses anywhere on
the Internet, but cannot resolve DNS names. Assuming that
your TCP/IP settings are configured correctly, the
following information might help.
Again, this information applies only to Win 98/ME.

1. Make sure you have your OS CD or the correct .CAB files
available for the particular version of 98/98se/ME.

2. Remove ALL instances of TCP/IP from Network Properties.
DO NOT reboot when prompted to do so.

3. Delete the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Winsoc
k

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\WinSoc
k2

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VXD\AF
VXD

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD\DH
CP

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD\DH
CPOptions

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD\MS
TCP

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD\Wi
nsock

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD\Wi
nsock2

4. Reboot.
5. Reinstall TCP/IP.
6. Reboot.

In my experience this issue is often caused by the
installation and/or uninstallation of 3rd party internet-
related programs such as spyware or firewall software.
However, sometimes there seems to be no obvious cause.
Have had much success with this fix.
