IE browser problem?

Several PC's all working and able to browse via a DG834G using both
wired and wireless.

On one of the PC's (Win XP), IE is not able to browse. It is set to
'detect settings' the same as the other PC's on the LAN. It did work,
but suddenly stopped. I can use other browsers on the same machine,
though they are painfully slow. Email works, but I cannot ping the
router in a DOS box.

TCP/IP settings are the same as the other boxes, except for each having
an individual unique IP.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Firewall settings? I have nothing selected in my LAN settings in IE,

Telling us the settings from the affected, AND the settings from working
PCs might help (or help you spot any differences) Do you have multiple
routes, strange DNS settings or depend on routers to supply DNS ? In
the dark as to the settings, so other things might include some sort
of cache being defined for MS IE but not other browsers... and is
the affected PC on a wireless connection with lots of errors ????

I have no additional firewall installed and the XP one is disabled.

Dr Teeth formulated the question :
> Are you spyware, adware and virus-free?

So far as I know yes, but I will recheck.

Yes I know, the site is temporarily down for a while.

They are all identical and the setting have been double checked.

Try uninstalling the TCP/IP stack, rebooting and then re-installing
it.

That sounds good...

Is that just a matter of Control Panel> Network Connections> Properties
(of the card), then clicking Uninstall with TCP/IP selected ?

Er, no it does not. From what you have said it works and I have the
feeling that the problem lies elsewhere. Spyware can feck with the
TCP/IP stack.

Use this
http://www.soft14.com/Utilities_and_...15_Review.html
to try to repair your stack, if you have exhausted all other avenues.
