Identify users accessing shared network folders

Hi

I've got a question if it is possible to identify the user which is
currently accessing a network share on a server, without directly being
logged on to this server.

Example Situation: Peter is maintaining an Word-Doc Template which is
located on a shared network folder (Peter has full access to this folder),
now Peter wants to change the Template, but he cant because somebody opened
it... . Peter has no access to the server itself, so he would have to ask an
administrator to find out the person accessing the share and closing the
connection.

Is there a simple way to find out the person accessing the share without
being logged on to the server?

Use the computer management mmc, and use the "connect to..." option. Then,
just look for share and open files.
