It's possible that the ME computer isn't able to get its TCP/IP
configuration from the Xp host computer. The next time there's a
problem, go to Start | Run | Winipcfg, select the network card, and
click More Info. It should show these values:
IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1
An IP address of 169.254.x.x is a sure sign that ME can't communicate
with the XP host computer. If that happens, click the Renew button
and see if it succeeds.
