I have an Intel Centrino Wireless laptop (Running XP Pro) and a linksys
wireless g nic (XP Home), and after hours of trouble I finaly got the two
setup using an ad-hoc connection with Successful ICS and Filesharing. This
was a couple weeks ago. Now today I attempted to setup a connection with a
wireless router at my Mom's work, and had the Wireless router properly
configured and could share files, but not the Internet... So I gave up on
that for the day and brought the laptop back home, where it then began to not
display any web-pages. According to My Network Connections, the ICS is
connected and ready, and I have the internet on my host working, however
despite being connected, I'm still getting the unable to display Web-Pages
error or whatever it is. I have tried turning off al the firewalls even
though they didnt cause a problem before, and tried changing internet
explorer settings to and from automaticaly detect, and I even re-created my
entire ad-hoc network.

Under Network Connections in the Internet Gateway group it says "ISP" on
"PC" is connected. I can succesfuly share files, but cannot access the
internet on the laptop. Sorry if the post is confusing, Any help appreciated

Many Thanks

Jon

I figured out that My problem was having both the laptop and desktop ip's on
the wireless network set to manual, so I changed the client(laptop) ip
settings to automatic and Voila! problem solved. This should also fix the
problem I was having at my Mom's work, hope this save someone else the time
it cost me.
