Hi
Scenario:
I have a PC running windows XP home with a dial up modem.
I have a PC Running Windows 98se.
The two PC's are networked and I can see each machine ok. and access files
etc.
I have setup ICS Gateway on the W98se machine, it will dial the connect on
the WinXP machine OK. but I cannot access the Internet with IE 6. The Win
XP can access the Internet OK.
I have Zonealarm on the Win XP Machine, but even if I shut this down, it
makes no difference, I still cannot access the Internet even tho the ICS
Gateway has connected.

Can anyone help please? These are for a customer and I need to get them set
up and back to them. Thanks.

To use the free version of ZoneAlarm on an ICS host computer, set the
Internet Zone Security to Med. and set the Trusted Zone Security to
Low. If that doesn't solve the problem, try this on the host:

1. Disable ICS.
2. Enable XP's Internet Connection Firewall on the dial-up connection.
3. Un-install ZoneAlarm. Don't just disable it. Un-install it.
4. Reboot.
5. Re-enable ICS, reboot the client, and try accessing the Internet on
the client.

under sharing and Security, but the wording and tick box are greyed out..

Again, Thanks

You're welcome, Barry. Be sure to enable XP's Internet Connection
Firewall on the dial-up connection with ZoneAlarm gone.

I'd post your other question in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general.
