I have set up my desktop(Win 98SE) to network with my laptop (Win XP) and
can transfer files OK
Each PC can access the internet separately but my set up for ICS is not
working. The Laptop is the host P.C. and the desktop the client.
What can be wrong
regards
Blair Malcolm

Without knowing how you've set up ICS or what problems there are, it's
hard to say what's wrong.

This web page should help you get ICS working:

ICS Installation [Win98SE]
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/...icsinstall.htm

If it doesn't, please post a news group message with complete details
of the setup and the problem. I'm sure that someone can help.

I have found from another source that I have been connected OK without
realising it. I now can use the Internet on my second PC after connecting
the first PC
What lead me astray was I was using Internet Express as a check and when I
tried to access a news group the dial command appeared. It still does this
so it may be a setting problem
Any ideas?

Is that happening on the second computer? If so, run Internet
Explorer, click Tools | Internet Options | Connections, and select
"Never dial a connection".
