With Linux does the Host computer used for Internet Computer Sharing
have to be 192.168.0.1

To date I've had it that way with my small home network which includes
wired and wireless but I temporarily have to change Host computers and
use a WindowsXP machine as Host.

The XP machine I believe ** has ** to have 192.168.0.1 which obviously
messes up my settings.

No, it can be whatever you want, so long as it's within the local subnet
range (other than 0 or broadcast address).
