ICS causing Windows Protection Error

Hi there

Driving me nuts this one... I'm setting up a home network
for my friend (after successfully installing one myself).
He uses ME and is linking an ADSL top box to one of his USB
ports using an an ethernet adaptor. As a stand-alone
internet connection it works fine. Now, when I install a
network card to link two computers things start to go
wrong. Firstly, it's effected the original IC - it wants to
use the the new network card rather than the USB port.
Secondly, after installing ICS the system reboots but fails
almost immediately with a Windows Protection Error. Only
way around it is to start up in Safe Mode and remove ICS.
Starts fine then but we're still having problem with the
original IC via the USB port.

Completely flummoxed. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Rich
