IAS & RAS

Hi,

Currently we have around 150 servers in our network and 1000 remote
users(Concurrent access is around 150++ users).

Occasionally our RAS server will encounter the error: EID:20073 "The
authentication server did not respond to authentication requests in a timely
fashion."

The RAS & IAS is running in the same server and the server is member server.

So I guess when we hit the peak period of remote user try to access and
the server is unable to communicate with the AD for remote user
authentication.

So my question is should I dcpromo the RAS+IAS server to DC so it will
solve the problem above and is it advisable to do so(might have security
issue)??
