Hi,

We have a website that takes up to 30 seconds to display a light
HomePage. Ever had such a problem ?

The server is a Fedora Linux / Apache 2.0 with MySQL. Scripts written
in PHP.

We receive a very little traffic : more or less 2.500 people per day
visiting 1 or 2 pages making +/- 2 USD per day in advertising revenue
compared to tons of hours developing.

We reviewed all LOGS + SQL scripts + Weight of pages. Our website may
be will always stay nothing due to lack of speed and we do not much
clerverness in web servers sciences.

Make sure that the machine can resolve names adequately.

Dear Sir.
Many thanks for your message.
I did precisely :
1. Stop/Start/Status/Restart of the DNS server at
/etc/rc.d/init.d/named
2. Ensure : Domain Name DNS Type Domain IP Nameserver IP Pointing

Result : nothing better.

No traffic on the website. No connexions. No heavy files. No bad
un-reverence attitudes to anyone that would conclude to a banishment
from a party.

Please thanks. your instructions H+ important to us ...

Regards
Henry

Please post the results of " cat /etc/nsswitch.conf " with special attention
to the hosts line, which might resemble:

hosts: files dns

The hosts are : hosts: files dns

Watch this shit : http://tinyurl.com/vjble

No traffic | Nothing in Logs | Nothing from cat /etc/nsswitch.conf
(not sure)

5 hours w/o web connexion. this is my second chapter 11 in the last one
week.
May be you had an idea to go outside the darkness ?

Henry.

No. If you wish to post the URL of your server, do it in plain text w/o
using an obscuring intermediary.

The last advice I'll offer you is to start the httpd in debug mode (or
strace) and examine the log file(s) generated to get more information about
the nature of the problem.

Try these commands and post the output:

time dig tinyurl.com +short
time dig @195.66.135.131 tinyurl.com +short
cat /etc/resolv.conf
