Hotspot Connection question

I'm trying to connect to a local free hotspot with my desktop using a roof
mounted directional antenna connected to a Linksys WRT54GS (with DD-WRT
firmware installed) to act as an AP Client. Can I run thr Cat5E directly into
the LAN connection on the desktop or do I need to go through the WAN connection
of a second router.

Both the FREE hotspot and your wireless Access point should support
birdging first, then you can route a UTP cable to your desktop or
notebook LAN to have multiple computers talking to the Hotspot.
