Hosts on subnets

Hi,

I have a Win 2003 Server based network, which is split
into two subnets:

one subnet uses the IPs 192.168.0.xxx and the other uses
the IPs 192.168.1.xxx.

Everything is configured in a domain.

At this moment, the Domain Controller is multihomed and
contains a network adapter for each of the two subnets
mentioned above. It is used as a router and DHCP server;
however, this is going to change within few weeks when we
get a dedicated DC - at that time the machine will remain
as router and DHCP server. however, the subnet
organization should continue as is.

Now, when I view the Windows Explorer and open
the "Microsoft Windows Network" folder, I don't see all
the hosts but only those on the local subnet.

only on the DC/Domain controller I can see all computers
in both subnets; however, from the individual machines on
each subnet I only see the other machines on the same
subnet.

This is a problem because on both subnets there are
resources which should be available to the clients on the
other subnet.

How can I resolve this?

Thanks in advance.

See:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=221210

When you move your DC roles over to the new DC, you should not have this
problem, as long as it is not multi-homed. You will need WINS or lmhosts
files to assist reliable browsing across subnets

Browsing across subnets requires NetBIOS name resolution, normally in
the form of a properly configured WINS.
