Hi,

For hosts and lmhosts files, do I need to put a fqdn against an IP address
if its a Windows 2000 server or above, and just a server name if its an NT
server?
Should the hosts and lmhosts files be different in that way if they're
sitting on a NT or a W2k server?

Thanks in advance,

SW

The format for the HOSTS and LMHOSTS files remain the same regardless of the OS.

You can put a netbios name in the HOSTS files and sometimes that is needed if you do not
have a domain suffix for that host in your DNS settings and that host is in another domain.

HTH,
Gary
