I've got a linux-based router too which also serves as a print server. I've
got 3 other computers( 1 main pc with linux/win2000, and 2 others operating
under win2000 and XP respectively). All the 3 computers were formally
connected thru cable. Now I've installed 2 wifi cards in 2 of them
(excluding the main PC). They connect to the Net easily thru the linux
router and communicate well with the other computers on the network(file
sharing, printing etc).
Currently the AP is another linux-based PC(Hostap) but I'm soon to replace
it with a Dlink DWL-900AP+.
You may want to go completely wireless and install wifi nics on every
computer. I decided to have a mixed network, keeping wired nics where the
pcs were near the router. Remember wired is still more reliable and faster
than wireless.
