Not sure what you think an 'internet' server is? But if you just want to
connect to your Ubuntu PC from the outside world, just set up Ubuntu as
an SSH server and log in with an ssh client. Then you can use the
command 'scp' or even an sftp gui client to copy files back and forth.
You'll just need to know the IP address of your Ubuntu PC to log in.

check this:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SSHHowto

if you use a windows PC at school, you can use this scp/sftp client
(like an ftp client) to copy files:

You still need to describe in more detail what you want to accomplish.
What do you mean by "internet server"?

Using SSH you can copy files back and forth and you can run programs
on your home computer and get them displayed at the remote location at
school.

You could also set up a VPN if you just want access to your files over
NFS or SMB. I have good experiences with OpenVPN.

But, once again, please describe in more detail what your needs are
and what you mean by "internet server".

Thanx Jacob !

"Internet server" was mean as : over the net accessible

To copy and store Files on my HomePC is enough for me, but (and it
would be nice if somebody with experience could answer me) what´s
about the rate of transfer?

I maybe sound like a noob, but what factor is minimizing (right
english???) the transfer-rate?
The internetconnection would think first, but what`s about the
dekription?

PS: I really like the idea of the usenet more and more. Will I ever
find a post where I could write an good (??? please, excuse my BAD
english) answer I will do.
