I have ME. Recently, I networked the two computers at
home. The main computer is a PC, the other Mac. I have
an Ethernet connection and a D-Link Router and Broadband
internet connection from my phone company. I had no
problems. Then, I ran the MS Networking Wizard because I
thought I had to but it caused IE not to open. Could it be
that I don't need to do that if the computers are
connected with a router? I'm no techie, can you tell?
Also, when I boot up, a window appears asking for my
password. Is there any way I can stop that? I don't have
file sharing but I'd like to have printer sharing. What
do I have to do to accomplish that? So many questions.

The networking wizard is, I believe, to set up ICS, which isn't necessary
with a router in the LAN. The router supplies the IP addresses to each
computer, unless you decide to set them manually. Each computer will access
the Internet independently of the other.

Yep!

Right click on My Network Places, and click on Properties in the menu. Check
what is in the Primary Network Logon: box. It should be "Windows Logon".

I am not sure how to do that with a Mac and a Windows computer. Mac printers
use something called, "Appletalk", I think. Unless you get a print server,
another box like the router, or the router you have has a print server. And
if the Mac can access an Ethernet linked printer. Mmmm. Time for research;
long ago I was going to buy a used Mac for the LAN.

Yep. It will never end until you know it all!
