I have a new computer ( Athlon 2100+) that has cable
connection ( from a cable modem to the PC throuth an
ethernet connection)> Recently i have build another
computer out of scrap and decided to crate a network for
them. i have purchased a 10/100 network card for the old
computer and in the manual i have read that it is possable
to connect them to the internet using software or
hardware.
I understand that the hardware method would require
getting an ethernet hub or router. What would the software
method be?
can i connect the cable modem using a usb ( one of the
methods i could have connect taht modem to a pc) to the
newer pc and then connect the two computers using a 10/100
ethernet cards?
can i install two ethernet cards on one computer and have
one connected to a Modem and another to the second pc?

PC1
Athlon 2100+ @ 1.73Ghz
768mb of DDR ram
Win98

PC2
Pentium 1 @ 120mhz
24mb of some old ram
win98

thank you
