If the Gigafast router has a built-in DHCP server, disable the DHCP
server. If it's enabled, it can prevent communication between your
computers.
Set up cp1 as an Internet Connection Sharing host and configure it to
share its dial-up Internet connection. Set up cp2 as in Internet
Connection Sharing client. I've written a web page with details:
