I setting a network at home I have two pc with XP and one
with windows 98, one router, and Hub. I trying to make 98
see the pcs with XP. the pc with 98 is connected to the
hub and the pc with XP are connected to the router. I
heard you need some protocols I need to install. can
anybody tell me what are those protocols please

Hi Jav,

Tcpip or Netbeui will give you this function. On the Xp machine (Netbeui)
will be on the CD.

Masure all PC are in the same work group, like HomeNetwork. If you have file
and print shaing installed on the Win98, go into and make the browsing
setting to disable.
Make sure everyone is on the same sub net.

TCP/IP is the only protocol needed. Run XP's Network Setup Wizard on
each computer and tell it that the computer connects to the Internet
through a residential gateway. The Wizard will make all of the
network settings.
