I have a computer running XP
and another computer running Win98 networked together
using a hub. Both computers are able to use the internet
(cable modem)without any problems. The computer running
Win98 is able to access the XP computer shared files,
however I am not able to access the Win98 computer from
the XP computer. I do not believe I am able to set up the
Win98 computer to share files. It does not list the Win98
computer on either of the computers in network
neighborhood. I ran the network set-up on the XP Computer
and created a disk which I ran on the Win98 computer. The
installation goes so far until it comes up that I have to
install WinCabs\98se. I have been unable to find these
files and finish the install process.(I did put in the 98
CD and was unable to locate any of these files) I would
appreciate any help in finishing the install process.

Thank you in advance.

See if you have the Windows setup files (search for a folder containing
several dozen files that begin with WIN98 and end with the letters CAB) on
your hard drive, if you do you can tell the driver installer to look there
for the files it needs. Otherwise you'll need to get a Windows 98 CD to
complete the process and get your network working.
