I, rather stupidly, tried to increase the speed of my two machine P2P
network and, I think, blew up one of the cards. The hub shows all the
lights responding as usual. I have replaced the card but now that
machine cannot access the network at all while the other machine can
see but not access the first. References to the original card have
been removed and drivers installed for the replacement card. In
Network.cpl I have configured the new card exactly as the original was
configured with a fixed IP of

192.168.0.1:255.255.255.0

If I boot either machine, it can see itself if the network is not
connected. When I connect the network, one machine will say it can
see, but not access the other. At the same time the other machine says
that it cannot browse the network and forgets that it can see itself.
This can happen with either machine.

What other information, if any, do I need to supply in order to get
help on this matter, please. All suggestions welcome.
