Home folder logon profile changes sometimes

I have a strange home folder logon problem in my company's Windows
2003 network
Mostly when the users logs on, the profile connects its home folder to
the \\server\home\%username% but sometimes it connects to the
\\server\home\ share instead. It creates no events and only creates an
error message when the user tries to save files in the shared home
directory with no write access.

I create and connect the home folder in AD profile settings. (Connect
H: (To \\server\home\%username%
The folder \\server\home is shared with the following Share permissions
Authenticated Users: change
Domain admins: Full control

Security settings
Administrators: Full control (Inherited)
Creator owner: Modify (Inherited)
System: Full control (Inherited)
Domain users: Read & Execute (This folder only)
