From Adrian Kennard at Andrews and Arnolds but it will affect all 50:1 1MB
ISP's..

--------
Just got this on the Home 1000 congestion issues:-

The high demand for BT IPStream Home 1000 has meant that VPs need to be
increased in size faster than the VP management process allows. This has led
to some backlog in increasing VP capacity, resulting in a small number of
hot spots, with the effect that some customers may see throughput at peak
times drop to the lower end of the product specification.

Since the 24th November BT Wholesale has been running more strict capacity
management rules, which has helped speed up VP upgrades, with a view to
improving performance.

Today 431 VPs are showing higher than usual levels of contention this
affects 779 BT IPStream Home 1000 customers.

Regards
Sunil
