Can a router be used to hide behind ones IP address? If I'm right the
router has it's own address 1st and this is what others see's,
correct? I'm not hooking up a network, this is for security.
Thanks
Bobby

The routers Lan side IP is whats part of your internal network. The WAN IP,
that you recieve from your ISP, is the same as your DSL/Cable Modems.

Bobby,

The router hides the ip address of your computer from the outside world. The
outside world sees only the address of the router, and the port number. The
router translates that port number to the ip address of your computer.
