Hello,

I just changed the case of my copmuter, during this
procedure I had to change the PCI slots my LAN cards are
in. Now I have the problem that Windows 2003 has remembered
the "old" cards but isnīt showing them to me, so I canīt
assign IP addresses and services like ICS to the supposedly
new cards. Iīd be grateful for any help...

If you go to Device Manager (Control Panel - >System->Hardware
tab->Deivices) are the cards shown under Network Adapters?
Do you see, two entries there for each of the cards?
If yes, one of the entries for each of the cards will be
showing..this deivce has problem.. etc. You can uninstall
these entries.
If it is showing only one entry for each of the cards, is it showing.. this
device has problem etc. If yes, then uninstall these entries..
Reboot the machine.
If it showing only one entry for each of the card and it says the device is
working properly.. them something wrong. You can then try first putting the
cards in their repsective earlier PCI slots, reboot the machine.
Then through device manager, uninstall them, Shut down the machine. Put the
cards in required PCI slots and boot the machine.

To display hidden devices, non-Plug and Play devices, and devices not
attached to the computer (commonly known as "ghosted" or "phantom" devices)
From a command prompt;

set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1
then
start devmgmt.msc

Then, use Device Manager to remove or reconfigure these devices.
