Help! XP clients cannot see W2K3 server resources

Here's my setup:

Machine #1:
Windows 2003 Server Enterprise (180-day eval, if that matters)
Machine is PDC of "DomainA", and is the only machine in "DomainA"
Guest account is enabled.

Machine #2:
Desktop, Windows XP SP1
Machine is member of workgroup "WorkgroupB"

Machine #3:
Laptop, Windows XP SP1
Machine is member of workgroup "WorkgroupB"

W2K3 Server is intended to provide file and print services for XP clients.
LAN is behind a firewall, I am not concerned about security (obviously,
since I've enabled the Guest account). I'd rather just have "ease of use",
where machines can browse resources and map network drives and printers
freely without authenticating.

I'm confused by the behavior of W2K3.

Sometimes, I can "net view server" from machine #2 and see the shared
resources.
I can never "net view server" from machine #3 and see the resources. Always
get "System Error 5 has occurred: Access is denied"

If I browse My Network Places, both machines see "DomainA" and both machines
see "Server". If I try to open the machine, I get an authentication prompt.
Even when I provide valid credentials, it still won't show me the shared
resources.

Same thing if I try to map drives.

My concern right now is being able to map drives to my XP clients.
Ultimately I'd like to not have to provide credentials, but at the moment
just being able to map the drives would suffice.

I'm about 3 days away from dumping W2K3 and going back to Linux. Please
help me not have to do this. :-)

Thanks in advance,

-Chris

Have also configured NTFS permissions (Security Tab) correct?

Because XP and W2K3 server are not in one trusted realm it is usual. As an
solution just create users' account on W2K3 (using Active Directory Users
and Computers) with names and passwords SIMILAR to those on XP computers.

Also check GPO for Domain Controllers OU in Computer Settings node, security
rights assignment and check which groups have right "access this computer
form network"

Did you install the remote connection services?
