Help! Trying to set up a wireless network.

Ok, I have DSL connected to my PC but would like to have internet access on my laptop as well. I have a Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router (which I'm not sure works with what I'm trying to do), but when I hook up the router I can't use the internet on my PC. All the lights on the DSL modem are on but once it's connected to the router I'm unable to access the internet. I would be extremely grateful for any help with this.
