Help!

I have an old computer (pentium Cleron 366 etower) running
Windows 98... I want to transfer music, files, pics,
vodeo, email,etc to my new laptop (Dell 2.8 Ghz, Pentium
III). I bought a Ethernet card for my old system and
bought a cross over cable. I need to know how to netweok
the two of them. I asked Dell and they wanted 245 dollars
to help... Scum!

Can someone please walk me through it... please? :-)
