Hey all I have a netgear router working fine on a cable connection,
went to share DSL the uplink port shows activity and the computers see
eachother on the LAN but i have no internet access. I cannout login to
the router (192.168.1.1) nor view the web. DSL connection works fine
when plugged in directly.

I reset the router prior to the DSL installation so its not an old
config problem.

All help appreciated

Are you sure the router's IP is 192.168.1.1 ? In some cases the factory

settings are 192.168.0.1... or something else, according to the user
manual. If the router was set to attribute addresses in another range
and your computer is set to use a fixed IP, also put it in DHCP mode.

What do you mean "reset the router". Reboot ? Or reset to factory
default ?

If the computer connected to the router is in DHCP mode, does it get an

IP ? Check the details and see what the "default gateway" is...

Also disable any firewall on the computer connected to the router,
although it should't be a problem since the router probably has an HTML

configuration interface on port 80.

The routers WAN port is defined as the default gateway, also i mean
restore factory settings when i say reboot.

192.168.1.1 is the ip of the router as it is listed on the back of the
device
