help with profiles

Allright I created a roaming profile for a user here. Already was a local
profile associated with the machine. Had the user log off and then log back
on to create the profile on a network share. Everything seemed to have
worked. Went to another machine and the profile transferred but couldnt
open thing like word. When opening word would get errors like cannot
access: There was a square. Then word would start up. Everytime I try to
access a file that is on the users desktop I get the error: Cannot access
read only doc *.* Outlook is cannot be accessed. If I try to access a
network file or a desktop file I get these errors. The Applications are
installed on the machine that the profile will not work on. Any infor would
be great
