Hi,
I'm trying to use my Farallon Phonenet PC III card with Netatalk under
Debian woody 3.0r4 kernel version 2.4.30.
I have kernel versions where I have compiled the cops.c driver into the
kernel and version where I have kept it as a module. Nothing seems to work.
I understand in order to use the card I first have to bring it up. To do
this at boot time I added to /etc/network/interfaces "auto lt0". If I then
put "iface lt0 inet dhcp", the kernel panics on bootup. So, I manually
assign an IP address. Is there anything else I need to do to bring the card
up?
When it tries to start appletalk services, the kernel panics.
The card's DIP switches are set for io=0x240, irq=5. However, the driver
autoprobes and finds the io address to be 0x340. The only difference I can
see is before the kernel panics setting the io address at 0x240 gives a
message of "lt0: transmit timed out" while with the driver thinking the io
address is 0x340 the messsage of "lt0: DMA timed out"
Can anyone help? Is this a problem with the driver, netatalk, the
distribution?
Thanks,
Greg Andrzejewki
