Learned ones,

What is the set-up for peer-to-peer network for 2 home pc.. Could we
use 2 network cards link with standard network cable? heard that a
twisted standard network cable is needed.

And what are settings needed to be configured for Windows98 and Linux.

use a "cross-over" cable..
standard wont work
you need samba on the LINUX PC

KISS, you figure out the acronym.
One hub. Straight through cable. Yes, this is twisted pair. TCP/IP
protocol. Common group name. Individual PC name. Sharing optional for
said protocol only.
Linux is different, not appropriate this newsgroup.
