Trying Server Enterprise 2003 for testing. I have it setup as a domain
controller, running Exchange Server 03 and all the fixins.
My problem is with FTP transfers. I have tried setting it up with several
different ftp server programs, as well as IIS FTP. I have tested with the
server program running on the domain controller, as well as running on a
workstation using a mapped network drive to the domain controller.
This same machine, with a different os, all the same hardware, consistantly
transferred around 10MB/s across the internal network, and speeds were
always at the limit of my internet connection from the outside. The network
has been configured exactly the same the whole time
I'm almost positive it has something to do with being a domain controller,
but I can't figure out for the life of me how to turn off this "feature" of
limiting transfer speeds. I have tried this with the server behind a
firewall and with it in the dmz as well.
Transferring files to the server via windows explorer gets decent speed
(5-10MB/s) Same going from server to workstation
FTP transfer to the server across LAN is around 10MB/s
FTP transfer from the server across LAN is about 220KB/s
FTP transfer from the server across internet is about 200-220KB/s
FTP transfer to the server across internet is about 600-700KB/s
Thanks for any help you can provide,
Jeff
