My WLAN (just to access the internet) presently consist of an Access
Point USR 8054 and 3 USB adapter USR 805420.
- using MAC Filter Function and WEP
This configuration works fine
Since 2 weeks I am trying to set up with little success an USR 5450 as
a repeater for one of the USB adapter to get a better signal -.
Can someone give a step by step procedure to set up the repeater?
- the "AP" Name of the repeater, can it be any?
- the SSID the same as at the AP USR 8054?
- Channel as the AP USR 8054?
- WEP key as the AP USR 8054? do I have to set all 4 keys?
- remote AP MAC LAN address (not the WLAN address) as the AP USR 8054,
this is clear
- MAC filter? just the address of the USB adapter I want to connect
too?
- 802.1x disabled?

Do I have to change the settings of the USB Adapter connecting to the
Repeater?

Thanks for any help
Willy

Willy,

I am also interested in this topic. I would have the same
configuration and am currently awaiting information from USR Robotics
on how to set up the reapeater to make it work with the router.

What I learnt so far from ohter newsgroup postings is, that the 5450
must be set as Access Point and not as router.

Please let me know once your system works fine, so I can buy the same
items.
