Help - need a modem

Have signed up with Metronet, now I need an ADSL modem. Presently running a
single XP computer and not expecting to get another.

The Ebuyer ASR-8400 ADSL Router seems to do everything but how does it
connect to the PC? Do I need to buy an extra card or does it use a standard
port?

Not seen anything on this NG about PCI modems. Are they any good?

Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

I asked this question recently on the forum of the UK distributors at
http://adsltech.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=301&PN=1 recently and it comes
with everything you need to get connected...

Your machine will also need a Network card as well - if one isn't already
installed or built into to your motherboard. Ebuyer sell them from around £3
though I think there own brand one is out of stock atm.(Quick code 31095)

If you are not expecting to get another computer you may also want to
consider the ASR-8100 - its the same as the ASR 8400 but only contains one
port instead of four - hence its slightly cheaper (and thats Quick code
48448 on their web site)

Regards
Sunil

Thanks Sunil. I ended up ordering the ASR 8100 as the 4 port one has a 10
day waiting list.
http://www.tech24.co.uk/ looks like it will be really helpfull when setting
up the router.
