I have a small Linux (latest Debian) installation with only a handful
of users (5-10). I need to install an IMAP server on this machine,
but there are quite a few of them around, any recommendations?

Any advice or pointers do docs on the web are most welcome.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I would strongly recommend dovecot. Simple, efficient, and (fairly) easy
to configure.

I use it along with exim4 + spamassassin + clamav. I've been experimenting
with dovecot's sieve plugin, too, since there are a number of sieve
script editors now available (including one for Thunderbird).

Got dovecot up and running. It has everything I wanted.
Many many thanks to all of you.
